Our goal is to improve safety for everyone in the maritime industry, one report at a time. Our Maritime Programme provides an independent, confidential incident and near-miss reporting system for people to share their safety concerns. We take every report seriously and carry out necessary investigations before publishing our findings for companies and other maritime works to learn from without revealing any identities.

Do you work in the maritime sector, either seagoing or shore-based? Then, we encourage you to report your safety-related concerns. We also welcome reports from members of the public who may come across safety concerns in their interactions with the maritime sector.

We understand that reporting safety concerns can be stressful. At CHIRP we never reveal the identities of our reporters. We ensure confidentiality so that you do not need to fear any repercussions. Once the reports are investigated we may work with the relevant organisations to take necessary action.

Your voice matters. Our team use the anonymised information reporters like you share to raise awareness throughout the industry on common, preventable safety issues.
