Chris has been a professional helicopter pilot for over 20 years. Beginning as a Sea King Mk 5 pilot in the Fleet Air Arm, he conducted Search and Rescue operations for 771NAS in Cornwall. Moving on to the Sea King Mk7, numerous deployments to Afghanistan and the Gulf followed, including a period as an embarked Flight Commander and Instrument Rating Instructor.

Leaving the Royal Navy to take a Search and Rescue position with Bristow, Chris and his family moved north to Stornoway, where they have spend the last 9 years. As an S92 pilot operating on behalf of HM Coastguard, Chris has conducted SAROPS in both the maritime and mountain environments across Scotland, while also being part of the Flight Safety Organisation, and Deputy Chief Pilot.

Ready for a relocation back south, Chris has recently moved into the HEMS world, taking a HEMS Captain position with Babcock MCS Onshore, flying for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance on the EC135.

Away from the cockpit, Chris is a keen runner, and is still commuting back to the Hebrides while the family prepare to move South in 2026
